A five-minute accessibility check

You don't need special software to catch the most common accessibility problems. Run these five checks on any page before it goes live.

1. Tab through it. Can you reach every link and button, and can you always see where focus is?
2. Zoom to 200%. Does the content reflow without horizontal scrolling?
3. Read the headings. Do they make sense as an outline on their own?
4. Check the images. Does every meaningful image have useful alt text?
5. Check contrast. Is body text at least 4.5:1 against its background?

Brand colours and contrast

The brand green #29b473 is for fills and accents. For green text on light backgrounds, use the darker ink tint #14724a, which passes AA. Both are already defined in tokens.css.
